There is always that one question a kid can’t avoid may it be from mom’s friend or dad’s friend or even the relatives ‘what do you want to become when you grow up?’. For me, the answer I gave came deep from my heart ‘I wanna be a neural surgeon’ and I worked so hard to become that one day.

I am 21 today, I know you are eager to know whether I am taking a medicine class today. unluckily the answer is NO. It’s not that I gave up on my dreams nor I stopped working so hard but you know nature ‘you can’t always get what you wanted’. I worked so hard, a determined kid in my Highschool and got good grades but failed one subject. You already know what subject it is, Biology.

However, life had to continue and so I joined campus to pursue Mathematics and Computer Science. After joining the field of computer science, I had so many choices of which I had to follow one and make my career out of it. Deep within I have always wanted to help in the Health sector and so I weighed all the choices I had and AI outweighed everything.

I read many articles on how AI can help in Healthcare and so I decided to put all my effort into it majorly focusing on Computer Vision, Neural Networks, NLP.

Use of AI in Healthcare

Unfortunately, my campus didn’t offer much AI and so I had to find my own means to learn. I didn’t know much about online courses until I joined a certain WhatsApp group where they shared some of the courses that one can take in the path to AI which has really helped build my foundation in AI and Machine Learning.

It’s been for almost 13 months now since I joined the AI-driven path and I have learned a lot and enjoyed it a lot, I even feel like AI has been in my vessels for many years. Here are some of the platforms that have really helped me a lot.

https://www.coursera.org/, https://www.udemy.com/, https://cognitiveclass.ai/, https://www.udacity.com/,

I have been able to learn a lot from the above platforms, some I have audited the courses, and some I have learned for free and received certificates #https://cognitiveclass.ai/.

A major problem is keeping track of what to do first and what to do next, beginning has always been a tough part but if you don’t want to be like me follow this AI-driven pathway. Learn step by step and don’t rush.

To summarise, I want you to know that you can’t become what you wanted to be but you can become something better in life, maybe not better as you wished but life gives you a second chance. And there is still a way you can help in your dream career. For me, I have dreams of helping surgeons and am working towards that by automating some of their work.

Later I will write about some of the ways I am implementing to help in Healthcare.

Thanks for reading.
